An innovation ecosystem backed by local government

The City of Sacramento oversees the Sacramento Urban Technology Lab, a syndicate of government, academic and private sector players committed to transforming Sacramento into a “living laboratory” for entrepreneurs, advanced technology businesses and academic institutions to test, develop and scale their products. The City also manages the Rapid Acceleration, Innovation, and Leadership in Sacramento (RAILS) program, which offers up to $1 million in grants annually to support the development of Sacramento’s entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem.

Seismic stability, three strong utility providers and a high-quality water supply make Greater Sacramento an ideal data center location. The region is home to California’s largest data center, Ragingwire’s “The RockSM”, whose 680,000-sq.-ft. center boasts over 52.7 megawatts of high-density critical IT capacity.
