As a regional leader, why is economic development important to you?
Economic development is critical to promoting regional prosperity, and meeting the growing needs for technology and good paying jobs within our regional communities. In El Dorado County, our General Plan defines a jobs-to-housing ratio goal to acquire high-quality local employment opportunities for all our working residents, many of whom commute to work outside the county. Our non-college bound youth should be able to live and work within their home county.
What excites you most about being part of GSEC?
The regional collaborative efforts that provide economic growth opportunity analysis, referral resources and innovative ideas beyond what our county could realize on its own.
What do you like most about living and doing business in the Greater Sacramento region?
The quality of life offered in our region is exceptional and unique in the state. The Sacramento region offers very diverse housing and employment choices, while being close to the Bay Area/Pacific Ocean, and the recreational enjoyment of the high Sierras and Lake Tahoe.
