Greater Sacramento Economic Council hosts international business leaders to strengthen international ties and promote regional growth.
萨克拉门托 (加利福尼亚州)- "(《世界人权宣言》) 大萨克拉门托经济委员会 (GSEC) recently hosted a series of visits by international delegates from Denmark, Israel, Germany and South Korea. These delegations visited the Greater Sacramento region to explore potential opportunities in advanced industries such as agriculture, clean technology and biotechnology, signaling the growing global interest in the region as a hub for innovation and investment.
The delegation visits were initiated through consulate and international business partnerships, highlighting the success of GSEC’s ongoing efforts to globalize the Greater Sacramento region. These visits showcase the region’s capacity to attract foreign companies and direct investment, particularly in emerging industries like biotech, cleantech and agtech. By facilitating these connections, GSEC ensures that all six counties in the region gain visibility and the necessary relationships to drive further growth and investment.
“This is a testament to the success of our Globalizing Greater Sacramento strategy to build the region’s international reputation and connections,” said Barry Broome, President & CEO of GSEC. “Our international market visits and outreach to Germany, South Korea and other countries are positioning the Greater Sacramento region as a global player in industries of the future. We are committed to continuing this momentum to ensure our region’s economic transformation.”
GSEC welcomed an Israeli delegation representing agtech companies and industry leaders. The group connected with local agriculture partners, including growers and county representatives, to explore collaborative opportunities that could strengthen ties between the two regions in the agtech sector.
“Welcoming the Israeli delegation in agricultural technology to Yuba City was an honor”, said Councilmember Wade Kirchner, City of Yuba City. “The collaboration between agencies and regional partners, such as the Yuba Sutter Farm Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce, made for a successful tour of our local agriculture community. Agriculture is vital to our heritage and economy, and delegations like this are essential for fostering innovation and enhancing our agricultural sector, positioning us for greater growth and competitiveness.”
GSEC hosted additional delegations from:
- Denmark: GSEC hosted a Danish agriculture and food delegation to learn about California’s decarbonization policies, with a focus on methane reduction practices. The delegation visited a local dairy farm to explore innovative environmental practices. Experts in air quality management and environmental regulations joined the discussions to provide insight into local implementation strategies.
- Germany: A clean technology delegation from Germany, following a previous GSEC market visit to their country, visited the Greater Sacramento region to engage with local leaders and explore clean energy and sustainability initiatives. The group met with key regional stakeholders to further discuss potential partnerships and innovations in the clean tech sector.
- South Korea: Two biotech startups from South Korea visited the region to continue building relationships with GSEC and local research institutions. These companies are exploring the potential for expanding their operations into California, particularly in biotech and life sciences, driven by the region’s strong innovation ecosystem.
These recent visits from global delegations highlight the Greater Sacramento region’s increasing global profile and its attractiveness as a destination for foreign investment. GSEC’s focus on cultivating relationships with international partners is positioned to bring significant benefits to the region’s industries and communities, with promising prospects in advanced manufacturing, clean technology, and other key sectors.
