Blake is a results-driven professional with over 14 years of experience in government affairs, advocacy, and strategic communications. His efforts have contributed to significant legislative advancements in education, affordable housing, economic development, and retirement security.
Blake’s career highlights include advising California State Treasurer John Chiang, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond on public policy and strategic initiatives. Notably, he served as the Superintendent’s designee to the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), the nation’s second-largest pension fund, where he played a pivotal role in advancing decisions on investments and governance.
An avid sports fan and travel enthusiast, Blake is also deeply committed to community involvement. He previously served on the City of Sacramento’s Stadium Area Financing Authority and the Inclusive Economic and Community Development Investment Committee. Blake’s leadership philosophy is grounded in collaboration, innovation, and the belief that every child deserves a strong foundation for lifelong success.
