Dave Roughton is the President/CEO for SAFE Credit Union (SAFE) in Folsom, CA. SAFE is a $4.2 billion locally owned and managed not for profit, cooperative consumer and commercial financial institution serving nearly 240,000 members with 700 employees and 20 branches throughout the Sacramento region.

Dave is active in industry and community affairs through his volunteer work with many organizations. Currently, Dave volunteers as Vice Chairman of the California Credit Union League Board of Directors and as the Board Liaison to the League’s Legislative Advocacy Committee. Dave is a member of the Credit Union National Association Payments Subcommittee, tasked to make recommendations on operational and public policy issues related to payments systems, data security, cybersecurity and credit unions’ access and utilization of the latest developments in payments. Dave is also a former Board Chairman of Member Business Lending, LLC located in Salt Lake City, UT, an organization serving the commercial lending needs of credit unions across the United States.

In Sacramento, Dave serves as the Chair for the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, serves as the Treasurer/Board Member for the Project Attain! Board of Directors and is a Board Director and Past Chair of the Board for First Tee – Greater Sacramento.

Prior to joining SAFE in 1999, Dave worked for Arthur Andersen LLP for more than 7 years in its Business Consulting and Audit practices. Dave is a CPA; he earned an MBA from the University of California, Davis, Graduate School of Management and a BS in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business & Economics.
