It’s an honor to serve on the Greater Sacramento Economic Council Board as the treasurer. I joined the Board because continuing to support the health care industry is important for our regional economic development efforts. Greater Sacramento continues to be innovative, working hard on behalf of our community.

Ms. Harting has more than 30 years of health care leadership experience, including all aspects of hospital operations, strategic planning, board and physician relations, community outreach, and program development.

Currently, Ms. Harting oversees operations for Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, Methodist Hospital of Sacramento, Mercy Hospital of Folsom, Woodland Healthcare, and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley. Altogether, Ms. Harting is responsible for more than 8,000 employees throughout the Greater Sacramento Service Area.

Ms. Harting has been a part of Dignity Health for more than 15 years. She previously served as the senior vice president of operations for Dignity Health’s Southern California West Service Area where she had administrative responsibility over three hospitals: Northridge Hospital Medical Center, St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. She also served as CEO for the two St. John’s hospitals. Prior to that, Ms. Harting served as the hospital president/CEO for Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Arizona where she oversaw the design and construction of the brand new hospital. Prior to that, she served as senior vice president of clinical services/chief nurse executive at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino.

Ms. Harting received her registered nurse degree from Riverside Community College in Riverside, Calif. She received her bachelor of health science degree from the University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif. And she received her master of business administration from University of Redlands and her certificate of global leadership in healthcare from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business.

Ms. Harting, who began her career as a nurse, is a passionate advocate for excellent care and humankindness for the patients and communities served by Dignity Health. She enjoys ballroom dancing and fishing.
