Advancing sustainable innovation with the launch of magnet-free motor technology for a cleaner future.
EL DORADO HILLS, CA- 볼렉트라, a Germany-based innovator in sustainable electric drivetrain technologies, today announced the inauguration of its new U.S. headquarters in the Greater Sacramento region of California. This milestone marks a pivotal moment in Volektra’s journey to establish itself as a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) and e-mobility sector, accelerating the company’s mission to develop and build revolutionary magnet-free motors and advanced control systems domestically.
In the coming months, Volektra will leverage the new facility to drive forward the development and production of its next-generation SEEM (Sustainable Electric Energy Motor) motors, including the latest iteration IESM (Inductive Electric Sustainable Motor). Unlike conventional electric motors, IESM delivers efficient power transfer without relying on rare-earth magnets, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable EV market. The IESM technology, designed to be scalable and adaptable will be manufactured and distributed from this new hub, with applications across e-bikes, cars, wind turbines and other low-power motor applications.
Key highlights of Volektra’s expansion:
- Sustainable motor technology: The IESM motor provides a cleaner, sustainable alternative to traditional motors, promoting reduced reliance on environmentally costly rare-earth elements.
- Enhanced U.S. production: New headquarters set to support development, manufacturing, and distribution of Volektra’s high-performance SEEM and Gen 1 motors.
- Introduction of Vollkit: The U.S. exclusive premium e-bike conversion kit designed for seamless transformation of conventional bikes into high-performance e-bikes.
“Setting up our headquarters in the Greater Sacramento region is a strategic move that aligns with Volektra’s commitment to sustainability and innovation,” said Manish Seth, Founder and Director of Volektra. “California’s robust support for green technology, combined with a talented workforce, makes it the ideal location for Volektra to accelerate the development of our breakthrough magnet-free motor technology and serve both domestic and international markets.”
In addition to the SEEM and IESM motors, Volektra’s U.S. headquarters will support the production of the Gen 1 motors and control systems specifically tailored for the e-bike market. As part of Volektra’s expansion, the facility will also build and distribute Vollkit, the company’s flagship premium e-bike conversion kit exclusively designed for the U.S. market. Engineered for uncompromising performance and quality, Vollkit empowers riders to transform conventional bikes into high-performance e-bikes offering a more accessible and sustainable path to e-mobility.
“Volektra’s decision to establish its U.S. headquarters in El Dorado Hills is a testament to our region’s growing prominence as a hub for sustainable innovation,” said Debbie Manning, President & CEO of El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce. “The Greater Sacramento region offers the ideal environment for forward-thinking companies like Volektra to thrive—supportive of green technology, rich in skilled talent and deeply committed to driving the future of e-mobility.”
By expanding in California, Volektra is creating high-quality, skilled manufacturing jobs in the U.S. while addressing the growing need for sustainable, high-performance electric motor solutions. The company’s new headquarters will house research, development and manufacturing teams focused on building products that reduce dependency on rare-earth materials and support environmental sustainability.
“Our February Germany delegation trip strengthened ties with key industries, showcasing the region’s talent, R&D assets and affordability. This move reinforces Greater Sacramento’s position as a leader in cleantech innovation and a prime destination for global investment,” said Barry Broome, President & CEO of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council. “I want to especially thank the late Supervisor John Hidahl, whose leadership was key in bringing companies like Volektra here. His contributions to our community will not be forgotten.”
Partnerships and Community Support: Volektra acknowledges the support of the Greater Sacramento Economic Council, Growth Factory, and Ansync in making this milestone possible. Their partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering an innovative ecosystem that advances electric mobility and sustainability.
