The robotics company plans to triple its headcount in the next year
Folsom, CA — OnSight Technology, a pioneering company in hardware-based AI and robotics, is proud to announce the establishment of its new headquarters in Folsom. Onsight has 20 employees at its new location with plans to grow to 60 in the next year. The 11,000-square-foot facility will be a key hub for OnSight’s research and development of autonomous robots and fire detection technology.
“We are thrilled to establish our headquarters in Folsom,” said Derek Chase, CEO of OnSight Technology. “The city offers an unparalleled environment for growth, with access to a talented workforce, supportive local government and a thriving tech community. The support from the Greater Sacramento Economic Council and Choose Folsom has been invaluable. Folsom is the perfect place for OnSight to continue pushing the boundaries of AI and robotics.”
OnSight’s advanced robotics and fire and smoke detection technologies represent a significant leap in technological innovation, showcasing a deep level of complexity and precision. Its BULLDOG robots are designed to effectively inspect critical solar components through computer vision and machine learning, successfully addressing the growing demand for skilled labor. The OWL camera is trained to recognize fire and smoke with unparalleled accuracy, providing critical early warnings and helping to prevent disasters before they escalate. This new facility will enable the company to do more advanced testing of these products. OnSight is one of several high-tech, research and development operations to be announced in recent months, following Samsung and Qualcomm earlier this year.
“The Greater Sacramento region continues to be a hub for sophisticated research and development companies thanks to our talent, partnerships and innovation ecosystem,” said GSEC President & CEO Barry Broome. “We are excited to see OnSight’s continued growth here and the critical technologies they’re pioneering.”
This strategic move marks a significant milestone in OnSight’s journey, supported by the Growth Factory accelerator program and Moneta Ventures, both esteemed Greater Sacramento-based firms. The decision to base the company in Folsom is rooted in the city’s exceptional ecosystem for technology growth. Folsom offers a unique blend of highly skilled talent, robust infrastructure and a supportive community that is essential for the development of cutting-edge AI and robotics technologies. The city’s vibrant tech scene and proximity to Sacramento’s resources make it an ideal location for a company dedicated to innovation and technological advancement.
“Folsom has long been a center for technological innovation, and the addition of OnSight Technology’s headquarters further cements our city’s reputation as a leading regional hub for high-tech companies. We are proud to support OnSight’s groundbreaking work in AI and robotics, and we look forward to their contributions to our vibrant tech community,” said Mike Kozlowski, Mayor of Folsom. “Our city’s skilled workforce and supportive environment make Folsom the perfect place for technology companies to thrive and lead advancements in technological innovation.”
“It is incredibly gratifying to see a company like OnSight Technology start in a small space on Sutter Street in Folsom, expand to El Dorado Hills, and ultimately return to Folsom to set down roots for their robotics and R&D hub,” said Joe Gagliardi, President/CEO of Choose Folsom. “They have successfully leveraged local talent from Sacramento State and UC Davis to fuel their innovation and growth. This journey demonstrates that our region has everything needed to create, grow and retain innovative companies.”
OnSight Technology has already made waves in the industry, securing the prestigious Best Product of the Year award from Solar PV Magazine. This accolade underscores the company’s commitment to excellence and its ability to deliver sophisticated and impactful solutions.
